Harmony In-Home Healthcare has been serving the St. Louis community for over 15 years. We're a family-owned business committed to providing compassionate, quality care.

What makes Harmony different from other home care agencies?

We're a family-owned business that treats every client like family. We offer both IHS and CDS programs, giving you options that fit your needs. Our caregivers are thoroughly vetted and trained, and we provide 24/7 support.

Eligibility & Getting Started

Who qualifies for home healthcare services?

To qualify, you generally need to be a Missouri resident enrolled in Medicaid (MO HealthNet), have a medical condition requiring assistance with daily activities, and have a doctor's order for home health services. Contact us for a free eligibility consultation.

How do I apply for Medicaid?

You can apply for Missouri Medicaid through the Missouri Family Support Division. We can help guide you through the application process and assist with required documentation. Call us for assistance.

How long does it take to start receiving services?

Once we have all required documentation and Medicaid approval, services can typically begin within 1-2 weeks. We work to expedite the process as much as possible while ensuring all requirements are met.

What documents do I need to get started?

You'll need your Missouri Medicaid card/number, a valid ID, and a doctor's order for home health services. We'll help you obtain any documentation you don't have.

In-Home Healthcare (IHS)

What is In-Home Healthcare (IHS)?

IHS is a Medicaid-funded program that provides personal care services in your home. Our trained caregivers assist with activities like bathing, dressing, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and transportation.

What services are included in IHS?

IHS services include personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), medication reminders, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, transportation to appointments, and companionship.

Can I choose my caregiver with IHS?

With IHS, we match you with qualified caregivers from our staff based on your needs and preferences. If you want to hire your own caregivers, including family members, consider our CDS program instead.

How many hours of care can I receive?

The number of hours depends on your assessed care needs and what's approved by Medicaid. During your assessment, we'll determine the appropriate level of care for your situation.

Consumer Directed Services (CDS)

What is Consumer Directed Services (CDS)?

CDS is a Medicaid program that puts you in control of your care. You hire, train, and manage your own caregivers—including family members—while we handle payroll, taxes, and employer paperwork.

Can family members be paid caregivers?

Yes! One of the biggest advantages of CDS is that you can hire family members (adult children, siblings, etc.) as your paid caregivers. There are some restrictions, such as spouses on certain waiver programs.

Who can be a caregiver under CDS?

Anyone 18 or older who passes a background check and is legally authorized to work in the U.S. can be a caregiver. This includes family members, friends, and neighbors.

What does Harmony do in the CDS program?

As your Fiscal Management Service (FMS) provider, we handle all employer responsibilities: payroll processing, tax withholding, workers' compensation insurance, background checks, and compliance paperwork.

How much do CDS caregivers get paid?

Caregiver pay rates are set by Missouri Medicaid and may vary. Contact us for current rate information. All payments are processed through our payroll system.

Billing & Payment

How much do services cost?

Our services are funded through Missouri Medicaid, so there's typically no out-of-pocket cost to you if you qualify. Medicaid covers the cost of approved home healthcare services.

Do you accept private pay?

Our primary focus is Medicaid-funded services. If you're interested in private pay options, please contact us to discuss your situation.

Will I receive a bill for services?

If you're receiving Medicaid-funded services, you should not receive a bill from us. Medicaid pays for approved services directly. If you have questions about any charges, contact our office immediately.

Care & Safety

How do you screen your caregivers?

All caregivers undergo comprehensive background checks, including criminal history, sex offender registry, and abuse registry checks. They also complete required training and orientation before providing care.

What if I have a problem with my caregiver?

Contact us immediately if you have any concerns about your caregiver. We take all complaints seriously and will work quickly to resolve any issues, including assigning a new caregiver if necessary.

Is there someone available 24/7?

Yes, we have staff available 24/7 for emergencies. For non-urgent matters, our office is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with limited Saturday hours.

What happens if my regular caregiver is sick?

For IHS clients, we'll arrange a backup caregiver to ensure you don't miss care. For CDS clients, it's important to have backup caregivers identified as part of your care plan.
